Tini Mathot, harpsichord
Tini Mathot was born in Amsterdam and studied piano and harpsichord at the Sweelinck
Conservatory in her native town. She works in close collaboration with her husband and former teacher Ton Koopman with whom she has performed in concert halls all over the world. Their repertoire for either two harpsichords, harpsichord and pianoforte, harpsichord and organ or two organs, ranges from well-known to rediscovered unknown works.
Tini Mathot maintains longstanding musical friendships with bass Klaus Mertens, soprano Bettina Pahn and recorder player Reine-Marie Verhagen and has made several recordings with them.
Tini Mathot is a renowned teacher, she was professor of harpsichord at the Royal Conservatory The Hague.
As a recording producer for Ton Koopman and the Amsterdam Baroque Orchestra & Choir and other leading ensembles she has produced numerous records for Erato, Philips, Teldec, Challenge Classics and other labels.
