Myriam Lafargue, accordeon

Myriam, originally from the southwest of France, started playing the chromatic accordeon age six and went to the famous music school of Jacques Mornet. She developed het talent rapidly and started winning prizes which made it possible for her to start travelling through Eurpa and the United States.

During her travels she met great musicians like Gilles Apap, Paul Mauriat, Michel Legrand and singers like José van Dam and Ben Harper with whom she started collaborating during concerts, tours and recordings.

She also gets involved in recording music for (animated) films in Europe and the United States (for Olivier Liboutry, François Peyroni and Alexandre Desplat.

She joins various contemporary music groups such as Ensemble TM+, Ars Nova and Calliopé and produces musical theatre performances such as ´un violon sur le toit´ (a violin on the roof).

Myriam plays an Pigini Sirius accordeon and in 2010 she became professor at the Conservatoire National de Bordeaux. She also teaches at the CNIMA (Centre National et International de Musique) and the Conservatoire de Libourne. Additionally, she gives masterclasses throughout the entire world.
