Kojiro Okada

Kojiro Okada was born in Bordeaux in 1999 and began studying the piano with Anne-Lise Gastaldi at the age of seven. A precocious talent, he performed at some of Paris’s most prestigious venues from a young age. In 2010, he performed at the Salle Pleyel to celebrate the bicentenary of Chopin’s birth. This was followed by appearances at the Théâtre du Châtelet in 2013 for the charity concert « Tous en Cœur », at the Philharmonie de Paris in 2022 and, in 2024, debuts at both the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam and La Seine Musicale in Paris. He has also frequently performed at the Salle Cortot, most recently at the Salle de Musique de La Chaux-de-Fonds. Kojiro’s international engagements include two major chamber music tours of North America. In 2022, he performed alongside violist Miguel da Silva at Salle Bourgie in Montreal and the Phillips Collection in Washington, D.C. In March 2025, he returned to the United States for another chamber music tour, performing in several cities alongside distinguished international partners. He regularly performs at renowned festivals such as the Chopin Festival in Nohant, the Festival de l’Orangerie de Sceaux, the International Piano Festival of La Roque d’Anthéron, the Folles Journées de Nantes and the Sommets Musicaux de Gstaad. He is also a regular guest at Flagey in Brussels. Kojiro is a passionate chamber musician and has been the pianist of the Trio Pantoum since 2024. With the trio, he recently released a first recording on the Dolce Volta label, marking a new and exciting chapter in their artistic journey. Throughout his career, Kojiro has collaborated with some of today’s most celebrated artists, including Nicholas Angelich, Jean-Efflam Bavouzet, Frank Braley, Miguel da Silva, Dag Jensen, Gary Hoffman, Jian Wang and Bertrand Chamayou. Most recently, he performed with Augustin Dumay. Kojiro studied at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse de Paris (CNSMD) with Hortense Cartier-Bresson and Florent Boffard. He is currently artist in residence at the Queen Elisabeth Music Chapel under the guidance of Frank Braley and Avedis Kouyoumdjian. A laureate of the Fondation Banque Populaire and the Fondation Safran, he has received numerous international accolades, including first prize at the Gabriel Fauré International Competition and the Società Umanitaria International Competition in Milan (duo), third prize at the Ricard Viñes Competition in Spain and the Japan Piano Open Competition in 2023, and a top award at the “Classic Piano” International Competition in Dubai. With over a decade of performances behind him, Kojiro Okada’s already remarkable journey promises a brilliant future on the international music stage.
