JORGE BOSSO

Jorge Bosso – composer and cellist On January 2014 Decca released his version of Piazzolla’s Las Cuatro Estaciones Porteñas for solo cello and strings performed by Enrico Dindo and I Solisti di Pavia. During the same year he premiered Tre Meditazioni for mixed choir a cappella and solo cello at the Cathedral of Vicenza, which was commissioned by the Festival Biblico for the opening speech of Cardinal Gianfranco Ravasi. He had the privilege to make an offer of the composition to the Pope as a gift in October 2015 – published by Casa Musicale Sonzogno. On 2016, he was commissioned: Cinco Tangos Apócrifos for cello and strings (the premiere was held at McGill University in Montreal, Canada), Frottole, Canoni, Ballate et altre Maraviglie per Orlando l’Eroe Furioso – inspired on the poem by Ludovico Ariosto – for vocal ensemble and instruments, PASSACAGLIA in Memoriam, concerto for cello and orchestra (commissioned by the Embassy of Argentina in Lebanon and premiered on December 2016) Es Muss sein! for twelve cellos (commissioned by Mario Brunello, he conducted the premiere himself at Teatro La Fenice in Venice on October 2016) and the orchestration of his second version of Debussy Cello Sonata for cello and strings, performed by Daniel Müller-Schott in Amsterdam during the Cello Biennalle at the Muziekgebow. On the fall of 2014 he conducted the premiere of VALENTINA! Un violoncello a fumetti at the Teatro Fraschini with Enrico Dindo and I Solisti di Pavia. On 2015 he completed a work which he has desired to write since many years, BROTHERS, for mixed choir a cappella and two cellos inspired on the correspondence between Vincent and Theo Van Gogh. All the works have been performed in different cities and countries: Moscow (Tchaikovsky Conservatory Bolshoi Hall), Saint Petersburg (Bolshoi and Small Hall of the Philharmonic Society), Nizhny Novgorod (Kremlin Hall), Krasnoyarsk (Philharmonic Hall, Opera and Ballet Theatre), Petrozavodsk (Philharmonic Hall), Salzburg (Summer Academy), England, Switzerland (Martha Argerich Festival), Israel (Bridges Festival), Turkey, Belgium, Holland, Germany, Italy, Croatia, USA, Spain, to name but a few. On 2019 it will be released his second album CD/DVD Sketches for a film featuring Enrico Dindo, Mario Brunello and Giovanni Sollima. At the same time he consider himself as a composer that does not believe anymore in the division between different musical currents. The world of sound is overloaded by a fusion of styles and tendencies, some of them a happier blend than others. The association of experiences combines to create a whole and it is at the moment of exposure that the miracle occurs. The portent of beauty in which the individual bears unwitting testimony.
